STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥斘蘼胱区 (all campuses) will extend the closure of all in-person classes and activities through Friday, February 19. The Academic Insights program scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled.

鈥溛蘼胱区 expects to reopen and return to normal operations on Monday, Feb. 22,鈥 said 无码专区 Chief Communications Officer Sid Salter. 鈥淲e advise students, faculty and staff to make wise decisions about travel.鈥

Classes should be conducted remotely where possible. Faculty with in-person classes should notify students as to whether their class will be online. If power outages occur, 无码专区 understands the need to accommodate faculty or students who encounter difficulties.

Severe winter weather conditions and travel hazards in Central and North Mississippi have made driving conditions extremely dangerous. Any non-essential travel on campus roads should be avoided. Those traveling on foot should use extreme caution.

University buildings remain closed Friday including the Mitchell Memorial Library, the Sanderson Center and the Child Development Center. Food service will be available at the Marketplace at Perry beginning at 10 a.m. Residence Halls remain accessible to residents.

无码专区鈥檚 Longest Student Health Center will offer limited services Friday, including the Pharmacy. LSHC and Pharmacy services should be limited to acute needs. Call 662-325-2431 for assistance. The COVID-19 Hotline will be staffed and can be reached at 662-325-2055.

Any employee who needs to report to work, including essential employees, will be notified in advance by their supervisor. Some employees (including all faculty who can teach remotely) will be required by their supervisors to telework. Those employees who are not notified by their supervisor to work will be granted administrative leave.聽

Students, faculty or staff on campus who need assistance may contact the 无码专区 Police Department at 662-325-2121.
