World-renowned Vienna Boys Choir performs Oct. 27 at ÎÞÂëרÇø

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Under the direction of Choirmaster Manolo Cagnin, the prestigious Vienna Boys Choir from Austria will give a special performance Friday [Oct. 27] at ÎÞÂëרÇø.

The 7:30 p.m. program in historic Lee Hall’s Bettersworth Auditorium is organized by the Columbus Arts Council, with generous support from various sponsors, including the Starkville Area Arts Council.

Tickets are $15 for students age 6-21. General admission tickets are $35, and premier seating tickets are available for $50. Online ticket purchases can be made at .

Tickets also may be purchased via credit card at the Starkville Area Arts Council, which is open from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at 101 S. Lafayette St. #18 in Starkville. In addition to the above-mentioned website, the Columbus Arts Council is selling tickets from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at its 501 Main St. location in Columbus. Comprised of 100 sopranos and altos age nine through 14, the Vienna Boys Choir is a private, not-for-profit organization with a 500-year history and tradition of educating children around the globe through music, outreach and philanthropic efforts. Regarded as one of the world’s finest vocal ensembles, the choir is divided into four groups that each spend nine to 11 weeks of the academic year touring Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas.

With a repertoire ranging from medieval to contemporary music, the choir annually entertains almost half a million people during approximately 300 concerts. In addition to its own arrangements of Viennese music, the choir performs children’s operas and world music. For more, visit .
